A Voice Alarm System for The Growth Company.

Last October we completed the installation of a new Voice Alarm system at The Growth Company, on Trafford Park, for Stanley Security UK.

The Growth Company have been providing high quality education and skills to individuals and businesses for 30 years. They have supported thousands of young people to kick-start their careers, and adults raise their skill level throughout their working life and achieve their full potential.

In addition to general paging announcements the new system will be used for the broadcast of two lock down signals; Internal Threat & External Threat. Due to the nature of the lock down signals, the design had to be Voice Alarm compliant with BS5839 Part 8 & EN54.

The system is based on a RCF MX3250 Voice Alarm amplifier. This is a compact wall mounting voice alarm system. The MX 3250 is perfect for small and medium size applications where EN 54-16 certification is a requirement. Equipped with powerful reliable Class D power amplifiers, able to provide up to 250 W of total power. Moreover, the standby power amplifier facility is also available. The EN54-4 certified power supply and the back-up batteries are all contained within the cabinet. In addition, the on-board DSP platform allows optimizing environmental equalization, maximizing voice intelligibility and background music performance.

The system drives a single zone of loudspeakers comprising of two circuits, A & B. Interleaving the two circuits results in greater system resiliance; since, failure of one circuit does not greatly comprimise site coverage.
